For the third time in a row, the American League All-Stars have won the 86th MLB All-Star Game earlier tonight! The American League All-Stars defeat the National League All Stars by a score of 6 to 3.

This year's All-Star Game was played at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. The game lasted 3 hours and 2 minutes with 43,656 people attending tonight's game. The host city was announced on 21 January 2013, by former MLB Commissioner, Bug Selig. This was the first time that Cincinnati was hosting the All-Star Game since 1988 where the game was played at Riverfront Stadium.

Pete Rose, who played 15 seasons for the Cincinnati Reds, was permanently banned from MLB for baseball betting to this very day. Despite the ban, the former Commissioner announced that Pete Rose wouldn't be prohibited for participating in the ceremonies.

For the second consecutive year in a row, #27 Left Fielder, Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angeles of Anaheim was awarded the 86th MLB All-Star Game Most Valuable Player. He went 3 at base, scored 2 runs, 1 home run and 1 run batted in.

He became the 5th player to win multiple All-Star Game MVP Awards (this includes Gary Carter, Steve Garvey, Willie Mays and Cal Ripken Jr.). He also became the 6th player with a lead-off home run in a All-Star Game. The first since Bo Jackson in 1989 and the first in the Top of the 1st since Joe Morgan in 1977.

Lastly, he became the 2nd reigning MVP to win the All-Star Game MVP. The last time this occurred was Dave Parker in 1979.

The National Anthem was performed by Ciara and the Canadian National Anthem was performed by Leo Welsh to kick off the All-Star Game. MCA Nashville recording artist Josh Turner sang "God Bless America" during the 7th inning stretch.

Since its inception, the National League still leads the All-Star Game with 43 wins, 41 losses and 2 ties (1961 and 2002). It will take at least three more years for the American League to take the lead in their overall All-Star Game record.

Congrats once again to the American League All-Stars for winning the 86th MLB All-Star Game! The American League will now have Home Field Advantage in the 2015 World Series come 27 October 2015!

Any thoughts on tonight's 86th MLB All-Star Game?
