With the sign-up period of the Summer Secret Santa 2017 event nearly a month old and with over 100 participants in the event, I feel that we need some competition! :meow:

If you were to run a event twice a year, would you be able to do a Summer Secret Santa and a Christmas Secret Santa event? :D

The changes that I'm suggesting is that the event would this time host two events, the Summer Secret Santa event and the Christmas Secret Santa event! :meow:

Unlike sign-ups for the Secret Santa being held in October and early November, sign-ups for the Summer version of the Secret Santa event would be held from April through mid-May.

Gift submissions for the Summer SS event would last between mid-June to mid-July and the Christmas SS event would be held between mid-December to early January.

What do you think? :meow:

In need of a co-founder...

First of all, unless I get my CORE membership renewed, this is gonna have to be my last journal before my current CORE membership runs out tomorrow night.

Anyways, as you may have already noticed by now in my recent blog, I gotten five current members that have now agreed to be contributors.

Now, because my current co-founder is not dA for a while, the :iconsecret-santa-network: is in need of one or two co-founders.

To earn a spot as a co-founder, you need to be experienced in helping out other participants and contributors of my group.

If you want to apply below, please post a comment here.

Summer Secret Santa 2017

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 28, 2017, 4:28 PM

First of all, I would like to stat that the computer that I got for $695 from AVA Direct three years ago today is officially out of warranty now.

That means that if one of the components on the motherboard fail (such as USB ports, USB controller, SATA controller, etc.) or the entire motherboard fails, then I will be out of luck unless it's time to start paying for any replacement parts that will work with this computer.

Early next year, Windows 8.1 will lose Mainstream Support, meaning that free technical support, design changes and warranty claims will no longer be provided.

Anyways, the Summer Secret Santa 2017 event got underway at the :iconsecret-santa-network: and so far...49 participants have signed up in just the last couple of days! :XD:

Sometime tomorrow, I'll be inviting new deviants whatever or not they'll be interested in joining my group for the Summer Secret Santa 2017 event. I recently read somewhere that DruidPeter has left deviantART for while due to the Mononucleosis diagnosis.

Sometime next week, I will be calling out two to three co-founders and five new contributers who will be willing to help out in this event!

This is important, because when sign-ups close in three months from today, pairs will be generated and we will need to work as a team to send participants notes of who their assigned partner will be in the Summer SS '17 event!

If you got any questions regarding my offer, let me know and I'll get back to you!

Lastly, earlier today, deviantART and other websites were unable to view images or upload them to the Sta.sh, because Amazon's S3 servers suffered a power outage that lasted for hours.

Rewriting the rules and guidelines...

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 21, 2017, 5:32 PM
Insomnia OekakiTwitterDonate

Now that the Secret Santa 2016 has come to a end, I'm going to be rewriting the rules as well as guidelines regarding my :iconsecret-santa-network: group.

The rewrite will be split up into four sections, "Rules", "Frequently Asked Questions", "Wishlist Guide" and "Volunteers".

The old rules that I wrote in mid-2015 was out of date and not too well written enough, so I will be gathering information on how the rules and guidelines of this group can be rewritten and it's going to take some time to rewrite them.

If I'm not too lazy, I should be all done by the end of this week. :)

Trying hard to get things done...

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 16, 2017, 1:57 AM
Insomnia OekakiTwitterDonate

As time is really starting to run out on my Secret Santa 2016 event at the :iconsecret-santa-network:. I'm still waiting on 5 replacement participants who haven't completed their Secret Santa gift drawing, plus one open slot for a replacement participant.

The replacement gift deadline is this Sunday night at 11:59 PM PST. As I said before, I can't give anyone anymore time beyond this deadline and I have to try to be fair to everyone. Drawings can still be completed after the final deadline has passed, but the Secret Santa 2016 event will be over.

I worked so hard on the Secret Santa 2016 event and this all comes down to this.

Unfortunately, with so many artists either having limited to no free time on their hands, this is turning out to be frustrating to get all of the remaining gift submissions completed by this weekend. :(

6 remaining replacement participants...that accounts to just over 1.4% of the remaining drawings that may never be completed.

I'm glad that in a couple of weeks, my group will be moving on to the next event...Summer Secret Santa 2017!

Still waiting...

First of all, I would like to thank ChibiMui for giving me a one-month CORE membership and I really appreciate it. It's been over a year since this happened.

And now, it's been nearly a week since the gift extension period ended. With just 10 replacement volunteers remaining, I'm still waiting on the volunteers who have yet to complete their gift.

Early next week, I will be notifying the participants to get the gift drawing done by the end of next Sunday, the 19th or the gifts could be lost forever and the Secret Santa 2016 event will be over!

The event will also be over if all of the gift submissions have been completed.

After the event is over, I'll be taking the week off and transition to the Summer Secret Santa 2017 event starting at the end of this month.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. :)

For the fifth time in franchise history, the New England Patriots have won Super Bowl LI!

The Patriots did it by making its largest comeback in franchise history by defeating the NFC champion, Atlanta Falcons by a score of 34 to 28 with 11:02 remaining in overtime. Going into the third quarter, the Patriots were down 25 points, but with a touchdown and a two-point conversion, the Patriots managed to tie the game.

Super Bowl LI was the first game in NFL championship history to go into overtime when the game ended with a touchdown.

With the Patriots win, they deny the Atlanta Falcons their first Super Bowl championship in their franchise history.

The New England Patriots finish their 2016 season with 17 wins and 2 losses. The Atlanta Falcons with their elimination loss, finish their season just short with 13 wins and 6 losses.

#12 Quarterback Tom Brady was named the Super Bowl LI Most Valuable Player and for the fourth out of five times in a row. He finished with a 95.2 quarterback rating after making 43 completions out of 62 attempted passes and passing for 466 yards.

He also score 2 touchdowns on 1 interception. He also rushed on 1 attempt for 15 yards with it being the longest one in the game. He also made 5 sacks with 24 yards lost.

His team, the Patriots came all the way back from being suspended the first four games of the 2016 NFL regular season for the "Deflategate" scandal that tarnish the franchise for much of last year.

Super Bowl LI was played at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. This was the third Super Bowl event played at Houston with the last one being held in 2004. 70,807 people attended Super Bowl LI.

The National Anthem was performed by Luke Ryan. The Coin Toss was made by former President George H. W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush. The Super Bowl LI Halftime Show was performed by Lady Gaga and the cost of a 30-second commercial was worth $5.02 million!

With all of that said and done, the 97th NFL season has come to a close! The 98th NFL season will begin on Thursday, 3 August 2017 with the 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame game - that's exactly 180 days from now.

For now, congratulations to the New England Patriots for overcoming the largest deficit in Super Bowl history to be crowned as champions of the National Football League for 2016!
It's over a week since I starting using Windows 8.1 Pro and now, I've decided to switch e-mails attributed to my new account.

If you would like to contact me via e-mail or on Skype, you may do so by contacting me at ppgrainbow@outlook.com. Don't contact me on ppgrainbow@icqmail.com since I don't use that account and can't even login to access my e-mails via ICQMail anymore. I'm expected to close my old Microsoft account later this month.

Users running Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 have the capability to sign in to their Microsoft account instead of a local account.

By the way, Black Monday 2017 is coming for participants who will be unable to turn in their gifts by the end of Sunday night. There will be participants who will be at risk of dropping out from the event and facing a ban for the rest of this year for not responding at all.

I'll explain more about this tomorrow.

Happy Groundhog Day and take care!
After nearly five years running Windows Vista, I made my decision to start over and install Windows 8.1 Pro just to stay supported for a while. After installing the drivers for the USB network adapter, Windows 8.1 was activated! automatically!

This is a product that I bought from redtagdeal on eBay for $100 (and there were only two new copies of the OS as there are not a lot left online.

The item which was originally sold for $129, is a replacement Christmas present that I got after I got ripped off for purchasing the counterfeit Windows 7 Ultimate for $79. It took a nearly a three weeks to get this issue all sorted out and getting my money back.

I'm glad that the wait is finally over now and that I can rest easy for a while. Due to this, Christmas 2016 was really stressful on me and I sure that I don't get ripped off anymore.
Today is the last day that current President Barack H. Obama will be President of the United States. Starting tomorrow at noon EST, Barack H. Obama will no longer be president and the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States will commence.

Donald J. Trump will sworn into the Oath of Office and will be known as President Trump. His running mate Mike Pence will be sworn in as the 48th Vice President of the United States.

When Donald Trump takes office, he will become the oldest President of the United States. Previously, Ronald Regan took the Oath of Office at the age of 69 in 1981.

How did he become president? As you may know, he won the 2016 Presidential Election by an electoral vote of 304 to 227. 30 states voted for the Republican and 20 states voted for the Democratic (Hillary Clinton). Both Donald and Hillary are from the home state of New York.

Hillary Clinton however, won the popular vote, 65,844,954 (45.95%) to 62,978,879 (48.04%). Donald Trump will become the fifth person in history to become president despite losing the nationwide popular vote and will become the first president without any prior experience in public service.

This is going to be a rough ride for everyone for at least the next four years (through at least January 2021).

Thoughts on the inauguration everyone?
With 50 participants remaining, dealing with over 400 participants is such a tough job to do and I'm really proud of how my Secret Santa 2016 event went and I still plan to do another event this year also. But...

It has come to my attention that one of the participants who wasn't comfortable with doing the gift drawing dropped out only to find that one of the participants already got their Secret Santa gift! This was a serious error that has been repeated so any times!

Starting this year...

1. In any event a participant who is assigned to do a gift drawing for their assigned participant and the assigned participant wasn't comfortable in the first place.
2. Gets assigned to do a swapped partner only to find that one of the partners already got their Secret Santa drawing in the first place.
3. The original participant drops out from the event.

When I call up for replacement participants, I will check to see if is an assigned participant who has already been given a gift drawing and if the assigned participant did get it, there will be no additional gift drawing for the same participant. It's that simple.

If you have any questions or comments about this journal, let me know. I'll post another update at my group this weekend to see how the event has progressed even more and provide a link to this journal.
After 20 weeks, the 2016 college football season has come to a end!

For the second time in programme history and for the first time since the 1981 college football season, the Clemson Tigers are national champions!

In the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, the #2 Tigers secured their second national championship after dethroning the previously undefeated and defending national champion, #1 Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 35 to 31!

The Crimson Tide came just one second short of winning their second consecutive national title and winning their 17th title overall. You can thank #13 WR Hunter Renfrow for catching a 2-yard touchdown to win the game!

So how did the two remaining teams advanced to the National Championship Game?

On Saturday, 31 December 2016, in the first national semifinal game, the #1 Crimson Tide eliminated the #4 Washington Huskies, 21 to 7. In the second national semifinal game, the #2 Clemson Tigers shut out and eliminate the #3 Ohio State Buckeyes, 31 to 0.

#4 QB Deshaun Watson was awarded the 2017 CFP Offensive Player of the Game! He earned the award for completing 36 of 56 attempts with a quarterback rating of 145. He rushed 420 yards and scored 3 touchdowns with 4 sacks and 21 rushes for 43 yards!

#10 LB Ben Boulware was awarded the 2017 CFP Defensive Player of the Game! He earned the award for making 6 tackles (4 unanswered and 2 assisted tackles) and 1 pass defended interception.

The #2 Clemson Tigers finish their season with 14 wins and 1 loss. The #1 Alabama Crimson Tide with their only loss of the season also finish their season with 14 wins a 1 loss. With the Crimson Tides' loss, this leaves no more undefeated college football teams as the 2016 season came to a end.

The Crimson Tide's loss also snaps the programme's 26-game winning streak with their last loss in September 2015.

The 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship Game was played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida with an attendance record of 74,512. The national anthem was performed by Little Big Town with the halftime show being performed by the Million Dollar Band and the Clemson University Tiger Band.

With the exception of the all-star college football bowl games later this month, college football has headed into a long off-season. The 2017 college football season will begin a new on Thursday, 31 August 2017 - that's less than 233 days from today!

For now, congratulations to the Clemson Tigers for pulling off an upset against the previously undefeated and national champion, Alabama Crimson Tide to win their first national championship in 35 years!

The Clemson Tigers are the champions of college football! :w00t::heart:
As my Secret Santa 2016 event at the Secret-Santa-Network enters 2017, there are 93 participants remaining and all of the participants have received a note. The number of remaining participants is no longer in the triple digits!

However as the event is 78% over, 17 participants have not responded at all and if they don't get a response from me Sunday night, they're at risk of being put on the naughty list for at least the rest of this year.

As the first week of 2017 progresses, I will check to see of any of the affected participants got their note.

But come the end of Sunday night, if none of the affected participants do not respond, they will be replaced come Monday morning and will be removed from my group.

We all don't like it when we have to put non-responsive participants on the do we? Unfortunately, it seems that a really busy real life and/or no internet access at all has took a huge toll on them.

Keep in mind that Monday, 6 February 2017 will be declared Black Monday 2017...the day after the Secret Santa 2016 gift extension deadline passes. This means that participants who had requested a extension will need to complete the gift drawing by Super Bowl Sunday, drop out from the event or risk a ban!
First new journal entry of the year! It's no wonder that half of this day in the new year is already done so far.

Happy New Year!:cake: Let's hope that the new year goes off great for everyone!
:cake: This is going to be my final journal entry of 2016!

I really appreciate that you made my day thanking me for your birthday wishes! I appreciate it! Now, it's time to look forward to 2017!

If you have the spare time, I would really love it if you do some birthday requests: forum.deviantart.com/community…

Instead of OCs, I prefer fanart this time around!
After dealing with a failed migration to Windows 7 earlier this week, it looks l like that I'm gonna be stuck on Windows Vista for a while longer. If didn't somehow move to Windows 7, it looks like that I was going to miss out on the OS, but I'm not going to give up hope just yet.

I sent the seller a note regarding my issue with the counterfeit copy of Windows 7 that the seller sold to me. And if he doesn't respond at all within two days, I will contact eBay to send it back for a full refund.

The good news is that the final week of 2016 is more than half-way over and with 2016 coming to a close, I turn 41.

I would really like something that can cheer me up for once!:cake:
Oh, god. I'm so annoyed here...

I'm so terribly sorry that I couldn't check my messages for the past couple of days. I though that I successfully installed Windows 7 Ultimate without any problems, but that's not the point here.

Windows 7 can't be activated.

I've been told over the phone that the product key that was used to install Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 was blocked by Microsoft (error code 0xC004C003). I've done a in-place upgrade from Windows Vista and a clean install, but neither of those options worked! :tears:

I purchased the product for $79, but I wound up getting a counterfeit copy of Windows 7. Since the product wouldn't active, I got ripped off for it! I simply can never afford hundreds of dollars for a legit copy of Windows 7.

I'm gonna have to find a way to contact eBay and return the non-genuine copy of Windows 7 for a full refund!

Trying to find a Windows 7 OS at lowest cost possible, makes it no excuse to sell it counterfeit!

And now, I've reformatted the first hard drive and re-installed Windows Vista again. It's the only product that I bought that is legit.

I feel really awful now. I'm going to bed now. It's been a terrible day.
The wait is finally over! It's finally time to open Christmas presents and ring out 2016!

So, what did everyone get for Christmas this year? :D

I got the Windows 7 Ultimate DVD (SKU: GLC-00181) for $79 off of eBay. The product was originally sold through Ingram Micro for over $300. The DVD includes both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The 32-bit version is the RTM product while the 64-bit version has Service Pack 1 integrated.

Keep in mind that I will be unable to any check messages until after I complete the move to Windows 7.

I also got the Amazon Fire 7" tablet (2015 model) for $33.33. I got it through Amazon during Cyber Monday. Lastly, I got my own exercise bike! The brand is a Stamina ATS Air Resistance Exercise Bike for $88.10.

The total amount of money that I spent online was $200.43.

So, what did you get for Christmas this year? :D

Post your thoughts, I would love to see it!

Merry Christmas and I'll see you all later! :cuddle::heart:
I just want to let you know Christmas is just less than three hours away officially. Target, the last store will close up shop tonight at 10 PM local time, thus marking the end of Christmas shopping for 2016!

This means that time is almost up to get your Christmas shopping done or you will be clearly out of luck for this year.

As early as tonight, I will be backing up most of the data onto my second hard drive, because I'm planning to move to Windows 7 as early as tomorrow morning.

Before I update to Windows 7, I will post a update of what I got for Christmas, but I will be unable to check messages until after I move to Windows 7, apply SP1 and the platform update.

The reason is simple. Windows Vista will be a dead OS in April 2017. Since malware gets embedded into some of the dA ads, no CORE membership and the fact that the OS will never again get security updates in a few months, it will be increasingly difficult to stay on dA. :(

I was hoping that it would be nice for someone to give me CORE membership (if they have the money) especially since it has been getting difficult to deal with the concerns over malware ads on this site.

Also, my birthday is one week away as well. I thought it would be wonderful for someone to think of giftart of my OCs or fanart. :p

Anyways, Merry Christmas and have a happy new year! :santa::rudolph:
